Our Inspiration
We were inspired by our children (and grandchildren) to develop diaper bags that are both functional and trendy. The three of us (mother and two daughters) decided we knew exactly what ‘moms’ needed and wanted in a diaper bag, since all three of us are moms ourselves.
Soon after Aidan’s arrival (Kelly’s first child and the first grandchild) we discovered that although the diaper bag used for Aidan was trendy, it was not at all functional and not nearly large enough for their needs. We knew we could do better!
After our first prototype arrived, the response was incredible. People without young children wanted to purchase a diaper bag to use as a purse. Those with children were placing their orders before our first shipment arrived. We realized our goal of making a trendy and functional diaper bag that maintained the look of a purse, was a huge success.

Shannon Nelson- Co-Founder/Owner
Educated at Michigan State University, with a Bachelors Degree in International Relations. And Masters in Business Administration, from the University of Phoenix, Shannon brought her entrepreneurial spirit and eye for design to Baby Mac Designs. As a child, Shannon would make jewelry during the holiday's and call her mom and dad up at a holiday gathering they were attending. She would give them any excuse as to why she needed to see them. Once she got her foot in the door, she was modeling all her latest creations and sell to all her parents friends. Her creativity and business skills began at a very young age. And her determination has not let up since. Today Shannon focuses on Brand Development and works closely with Kelly and Maureen on Product Development all while enjoying being a mother to two wonderful young girls, Kate (2) and Payton (almost 1).

Educated at Oakland University, with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a minor in Human Resource Management. And a Masters in Business Administration, from the University of Phoenix, Kelly brought her management and writing skills to Baby Mac Designs and with her eye for design as well. Dealing with people is Kelly's forte, along with her true passion for fashion. Which is why Kelly is our leading Product Developer. As an older sister to Shannon, Kelly never would let Shannon go out of the house with an outfit on if Kelly did not approve. Kelly is now a wife and mother to Aidan (3) and Reagan (almost 2).
Maureen Healy Co-Founder/Owner
Educated at Oakland Community College, with an Associates Degree in Business, Maureen...we'll, what can we say, without Maureen, no Kelly and no Shannon, and thus, probably no Baby Mac Designs. Maureen is the glue that holds Baby Mac Designs together. Where Maureen is needed, Maureen goes. She is an expert in every department and everyone just loves her. She is probably the friendliest person you will ever meet, and you will never run out of things to talk to her about. Maureen is also a Product Designer and has an eye for design. She is a mother to three, Kelly (not telling :), Shannon (not telling :) and Mike (26 and single..he he) and wife of 32 years. Who wouldn't want to be married to her for that long?!?! She has a lot to say and smiles all the time:)
